Saint Verny Vignobles

Cave Saint Verny is the only wine cooperative in Auvergne. It brings together 80 winegrowers for 200 hectares of vineyards. It produces 1 million bottles each year, or 45% of regional production. The Puy de Dôme has always been a wine region, particularly important in the 19th century, with 45,000 hectares in operation. Today it is no more than a niche region but its location on the 45th parallel ensures the good quality of its wines.

Terroirs: production is centralized on the other side of Puy de Dôme, more precisely south and southeast of Clermont Ferrand. The terroirs are very unique based on clay and limestone (often rather clayey) with a volcanic imprint sometimes assertive (basalt or pozzolan), sometimes more marginal (peperites or basalt scree).
